That's why they call me Slim Shady

Ok, so they don't really call me Slim Shady...ever.

I've recently got my account back for Minecraft.  I had to prove that I bought the game to transfer my account to a Mojang account or some bull.  Anyways, that's all done and I'll be popping onto Kreatious from time to time.

I've seen some old faces, and a LOT of new ones.  It's really hard to tell who is who in chat because so many people have a different name in chat than what is actually their name.  But, I'll live with it I guess.  Just wish that wasn't a thing to be honest.

See ya all around!

An update on creative server.

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to take a second and update everybody as far as what is happening with the creative server.  Zerg was going to host it at his parent's house, but their internet plan was not suited for such an endeavor.  I checked into my ISP policy, and it turns out I have no cap on bandwidth.

I've upgraded my internet plan and doubled the speed of it, and will host the server from my house.  Zerg is going to set up the comp and creative world, etc., and he'll bring it by some time this winter break.  The difference in cost between the 2 plans is $25 so I think zerg is just going to transfer me $25 through paypal from the donations.  This, though, is MUCH cheaper than the previous cost.  I think he bought a SSD for it, so after initial costs, it will be only $25 / mo. to run the server.

I haven't gotten to test out the speed, but my roomate sent me a text, and he said "Wow..FAST!"  So I hope it lives up to that expectation ;)  I'll fill in some details about the server once we get it all set up and live.

Ads On Forums?

As you may (Or may not if you have AdBlock) see that the news and events has ADVERTS. These adverts can generate a small amount of income to be used to keep the servers up and going.

The question is, should we have adverts on the main forums? Speak your views on the subject in the thread entitled "Ads on the forum" in serious discussion.

Creeper Damage?

I am going to remain unbiased as I possibly can when it comes to this; I will tell you my opinion right now, and that is... IT SHOULD BE GONE.

Whew! Now that we got out of the way, on to what I wanted to talk about.
Creeper damage, for me on Survival MultiPlayer(SMP), has always been nerfed. From Vanillacraft, to kreatious,.. to kreatious again( :3 ). Now, I am one that once I build something, I don't want it griefed; I don't want it messed with. So, naturally I am going to dislike this. Apparently, as do many other people. There is a poll on the forums(that you should vote on!), that has to do with this very topic. 27 people(~80%) in favor of removing the damage'ability' of creepers. And 5(~20%) wanting to keep them blowing up.

I'm fine with them blowing up my things, well... for the most part, because it's not that hard to fix. BUT, what I don't like, is this:

This, is right outside spawn. These pictures taken by kieranchocian, show what they actually do; incase you didn't notice, that is right outside the spawn building. Also, along with HovR having to roll things back, which takes time, italia and I had to fix part of a road by hand. Then, another time, we didn't have materials in which to fix the road, so we had to leave it. Broken.(Probably what HovR rolled back; it was on Yellow road)

Voter Commands?

Mattchuu has suggested that, 'Hey, donors get some fun commands, why not voters?' His idea is that people will get a vote point, or a few, when they vote and they can 'cash them in' for some fun commands. Some commands include: /VC wave, /VC clone, /VC wp(for waypoint)

Now, these are just a few of the many commands that they could possibly get, the idea isn't just limited to JUST these commands. Now, the only one on the list that people might think gives an unfair advantage, is the /VC wp.. BUT, they do lose points after using them(the /VC commands), and also... the 'price' would be higher, etc.
Oh, also... VOTE! :3

Poll! Drop or Keep? - Update!

Zerg doesn't want to get rid of the Creative Server, but he has agreed to a compromise. I don't want to analyze his post, so I'll just copy and paste it here.

I'm going to see if I can host creative from home using dedicated hardware. (AMD Phenom II X6 2.8Ghz, 16GB of DDR3 RAM).

This'll cost up to 100$/mo less per month, and will still allow for relatively unchanged performance on creative.
Survival will be moved to creative's hardware (The current creative server has an SSD.) and the lease on survival's hardware (the non ssd hardware) will be terminated. (This means survival gets an upgrade.)

I'll have to do this during winter break, or it won't ever be done.
I do not have a hard drive fast enough to handle the demands of creative.
The power at home isn't 100% reliable.

The catch:
- I have to pay the difference in the internet bill (possibly up to 50$/mo)
- I have to buy an SSD (this one, or similar)
- I'd like to buy an UPS. (this one)

Which means I'll still need about 290$ in donations for december and january; (about 30$ less than the current plan), but feburary'll cost 220$. :3
Unless someone wants to donate the hardware. :>

So, there you have it. Zerg is willing to lower the price, to host the survival off of his computer. BUT, he's going to need a SSD first. Which.. read his post again. :3

Dragon's Reach

Today, since Zerg loves skyrim sooo much, he wrote a script for a dragon in the main world.  The dragon flies around the top of Dragon's Reach.

Rumor has it that VIP donors will be able to ride the dragon around, and they will be called Ender-donors.  Of course all this is rumor, and if true, is only in the planning stages.

However, I did get to see the dragon first-hand, and Zerg did a very nice job with this script.  It'll be interesting to see what else he can do with all the new things in 1.0!
